Project Engineer
Department: Engineering
Reports to: General Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Work is stated in terms of objectives, requiring project planning and judgement.
Will have overall project responsibility, acting as the technical authority. Is
responsible for all aspects of project including budgets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Uses established standards, policies and procedures to complete work
assignments.
2. Uses computer assisted engineering, design software and equipment to perform
engineering tasks.
3. Is the mechanical technical lead on assigned projects.
4. Is responsible for meeting contract specifications for assigned projects, from
the kick-off meeting through the terms of warranty, insuring
equipment designs comply with the terms of client contracts, and/or contract
modifications.
5. Has direct client contact for information needs, progress reports and
approvals.
6. Consistently demonstrates professional skills in structuring assigned
activities, creativity, teamwork, handling of clients, and clients
changing needs, decision making and problem solving.
7. Monitors compliance with client criteria as well as NFPA, NEC and OSHA code
requirements.
8. Maintains accurate and neat records and documentation.
9. Interfaces with Applications Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Service and
Marketing on a regular basis.
10. May be required to travel on a short term basis.
11. Performs other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Acts as mechanical lead on assigned projects, directing, assisting, and
checking lower level engineers and design engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of heat processing equipment or related equipment
design experience.
• Auto Cad proficient.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal Office Environment.
