International Thermal Systems Thermal Degreasing ovens deliver the highest volume airflow in the market resulting in exceptional temperature uniformity and fast ramp-up to temperature. ITS’s Thermal Degreasers are engineered-to-order and they are available in various configurations to suit production volume and space considerations. Ovens with multi-zone controlled temperature ramp-up is available for synthetic based lubricants.

What is Thermal Degreasing?

There are three steps in the Thermal Degreasing process:

Step One
Convective heating raises the temperature of the heat exchanger. The lubricant begins to evaporate based on its evaporation rate as shown on the lubricant’s TGA (Thermal Graph Analysis) data sheet.

Step Two
Airflow is initiated through the radiator tubes to evacuate the tubes of residual lubricant (this step begins 2/3 of the way through the Degreaser).

Step Three
After the thermal degreasing operation is complete, the heat exchanger is cooled prior to entering the fluxing station.

Thermal degreasing provides a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to cleaning with solvents.

Thermal Degreaser. Degreases radiators at 450°F for 5 minutes. Oven is equipped with side mounted heater box and smoke capture vestibules.
